Wild Lands Wild Horses Fund’s mission is to help raise awareness for America’s Wild Horses through advocacy, education, film, art, rescue, and adoption. In addition, raise funds to assist other non-profits who are rescuing mustangs in need.
Film Advocacy
Using storytelling to protect what cannot speak for itself.
At Wild Lands Wild Horses, we believe that advocacy begins with awareness. Our Film Advocacy Program uses the power of documentary filmmaking and visual storytelling to expose the harsh realities America’s wild horses face, from roundups and displacement to government mismanagement. By bringing these untold stories to the screen, we aim to educate the public, inspire action, and influence change at the legislative level. Our films aren’t just narratives, they are calls to action, amplifying the voices of the voiceless and pushing for lasting protection of wild herds across the American West.
Sanctuary
A second chance for wild horses who never got a first.
Our sanctuary program offers a forever home to at-risk wild horses, especially those who are older, injured, traumatized, or at risk of slaughter. Many of these horses have endured neglect, abandonment, or brutal roundups. Here, they find peace, protection, and the ability to just be horses again. We provide individualized care, medical support, and acres of open pasture so they can live out their lives with dignity. Every horse who arrives at our gates becomes family, and their stories remind us why this work matters.
Arnie’s Fund
Honoring one life to save many.
Named after Arnie, a beloved senior mustang who spent his final years at our sanctuary, this fund helps other nonprofit organizations rescue and care for senior wild horses. Older horses are often overlooked in adoption and rescue efforts, yet they are the ones who need us most. Arnie’s Fund provides microgrants to sanctuaries and rescue groups that are committed to giving senior mustangs the love, medical attention, and peace they deserve. Through this program, Arnie’s legacy lives on, making room for more gray muzzles and grateful hearts.
